HUMBLE BEGINNINGS & FAMILY LEGACY
Carlos Floral was founded in 2001 by Juan Carlos Alvarez. Carlos' journey in becoming a successful businessman starts in the small town of Santa Anita, about half an hour away from Guadalajara, Jalisco. As one of 9 children, he was expected to contribute & provide for his family. At the young age of 4 he began working the fields harvesting potatoes, corn, peanuts, & other crops. In 1976, due to high unemployment & mass economic unrest in Mexico, Carlos emigrated to the U.S. seeking the American Dream. With no formal education or knowledge of the English language, the odds were certainly against him. Yet, he was given an opportunity at a floral company & Carlos began working in greenhouses. The floral industry was such a natural fit to him. To improve his communication skills he began taking English and Dale Carnegie training classes at night. With his background and perseverance he moved his way up to head of sales. He had found his passion. In 1990, along with his father Silvino Alvarez, they opened up a flower stand with their very own cultivated flowers which led to establishing Carlos Floral in 2001.
The roots of Carlos Floral is family. Today, Carlos' along with his wife and partner, Linda Alvarez, his daughter, Linda Miller and son, Andres Alvarez continue to build on this legacy at Carlos Floral. From the simple flower stand we are now a year-round operation offering shipping throughout the United States. Our family takes pride in producing the finest quality flowers at a fair price!
